To Sweep the Earth as with a Flood

We live in a time when online interactions are almost as common as face-to-face conversations. Instead of calling old friends or writing letters, we can communicate with large groups of friends on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. In his address "To Sweep the Earth as with a Flood," Elder Bednar talks about how we can use these modern tools to spread the gospel.

Elder Bednar gives many examples of ways the gospel has been shared online already. The church has produced many videos that can be inspirational to a lot of people. There are also hashtags that have been used in the past, such as #sharegoodness.

I liked the guidelines Elder Bednar proposed, especially the one about being authentic. If you like something and you want to share it, it is probably authentic to you. But he cautions us to make sure we don't try to make ourselves or our lives seem way greater than they are. Check your motivations, and if you're feeling it, hit share. I think that's good advice for a lot of things we post, not just for church stuff.
